How I conduct competitor analysis when setting up contextual advertising.

What I pay attention to, what information I collect and how I format the analysis data.

A company’s competitors in real life and competitors in search engine ads or advertising networks are different things.

Why I analyze competitors

For example, a car service. In a small town there may be 50 similar companies, and 10 are advertis on the Internet. To find out who these 10 companies are and how they attract customers, a competitive analysis is carri out.

Collection of the semantic core, grouping of  buy telemarketing data queries, texts and creatives of advertisements, structure and formats of the advertising campaign will be bas on the analysis data.

How I collect information

In Yandex and Google search, I enter search query masks and collect information about competitors on the first and second search pages.

For each competitor, I go through the path of a potential client from the first touch (advertisement) to the completion of a key action on the site.

  • what is promis in the ad
  • what are the advantages
  • where does the link from the use digital marketing for customer surveys  ad and additions lead to
  • what is written on the page and its design
  • how many steps ne to be taken before the key action is perform

The task is to collect maximum information.

How do I format the data?

For each competitor, I enter information into the Competitor Analysis table .

As a result of competitor analysis

  • it is clear who will be nearby on the search page and in advertising networks
  • how to make ads unique and recognizable
  • what advantages should be  taiwan data highlight for the target audience
  • how to make a simple and clear path for the client to the goal
