What are cookies?
Here are examples of what is stored in cookies:
- personal data for authorization (for example, login, name, email, password);
- user site settings (language and geodata);
- the type of device from which the user accessed the site;
- items in the cart and in favorites (if the user is not logged in).
Cookies do not always affect the personal data of site visitors. However, in this article we will talk specifically about “personal” cookies, which are the reason for such notifications on sites.

In 2015, Cambridge Analytica, a London-based political fax database consulting company, collected data on the preferences of 50 million Facebook users.
